Lightning Protection

Swann provide design, manufacture and installation to BS EN 62305 which is now the only recognised British Standard for lightning protection.  All our structural lightning protection systems are designed to protect the fabric of a structure, the property and lives of the people inside by channelling a lightning strike in a safe and controlled manner to the earth termination network.

Using the Faraday Cage principal as demanded by the majority of UK, European and international standards, Swann offers a complete design, manufacture and installation service from our UK operations.  Because of the severity of the implications of lightning strikes we pride ourselves on our design and supply high quality materials and equipment.

There are many ways in which lightning strikes or electrical discharges due to being adjacent lightening can cause thermal reactions, chemical release, potential explosions, mechanical or IT hardware disruption within or around buildings and structures.
